“Queen Victoria’s Secrets” - Debra N. Mancoff

When we think of Queen Victoria, we rarely think of her laughing or loving, and we never think of her as amused. But her journals, letters, and photographs reveal a beguiling and passionate woman, especially when it came to men. This lighthearted look at the three men who ruled her heart — her mentor Lord Melbourne; the love of her life, Prince Albert; and her Highland manservant, John Brown — reveals that even Queen Victoria had some sexy secrets.

Debra N. Mancoff writes about the connections between art, fashion, and culture. Author of more than twenty books, she holds a doctorate in art history from Northwestern University and is a Scholar-in-Residence at the Newberry Library.
